Fly In Depart Home state flights arranged by self (times TBA). Arrive Darwin and transfer to Darwin’s Barra Base B & B. Courtesy Bus pick up from airport free if arrive before 7.30pm, if after get a taxi to 2 Todd Cres Malak. First night accommodation at B&B is at normal room rates, unless this is a repeat fishing group booking, and then it is free, courtesy of Darwin Barra Base.
DAY 1:
1st Day we travel early to Mary River - Shady Camp and complete full day Barra fishing with Darwin’s Barra Base chasing the almighty Saltwater Barra out early to get to the right spot to do that Barra fishing, or chasing and pulling up the freight train of the sea those metre-plus Black Jewfish, or pulling up 7-8Kg Golden Snappers. Most just smile their heads off whilst holding up 30lb, 40lb, or 50lb plus Big Slapper Barramundi’s. Depending on the tidal influence we normally return back to Boat Ramp approx 5.30 pm. Clean and prepare boat for next day, travel back to Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge. Down a couple of coldies at the bar, shower, rest up or go for a swim. Take in the evening meal, have a few drinks & sleep.
DAY 2:
2nd Day Up approx 5.30am, pack up clothing pack bags and leave cabins, place luggage in storage. Early breakfast and out fishing, returning back to Boat Ramp approx 3pm clean & refuel boat etc. Travel to Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge approx 4 pm. Pick up Barra frozen fillets from freezers pack into eskies and return to Darwin’s Barra Base B&B. Unpack car, swim, rest drink and prepare for evening meal where individual awards are issued.
DAY 2-3:
2nd – 3rd Day Fly out midnight of 2nd Day or stay over for 3rd Day at B&B and have day off (sleep in & relax) – own arrangements around Darwin, fly back to home state or stay at our B&B and sight see our Northern Territory (flights arranged by self). If you are flying out that night frozen fish fillets are packed into approved flight boxes approx 1.5 hours prior to your flight.
