Get out and enjoy Victoria's great outdoors. This trip is ideal for those wanting to try abseiling and rock climbing in a fun and supportive environment. Locations we use are ideal for beginners to intermediate climbers. All climbing sites are located close to Melbourne.
Upon your arrival to our rock climbing site you will be greeted by our fun guides who will take you though a quick safety briefing. Then it's up the wall you go to hit your scenic peak target. There will be ample opportunity to rock climb different sections of the wall. Sections will vary in difficulty. We'll challenge you and coach you to get further with each try.
At around noon we will stop to have a beautifully presented lunch where we can socialise with other participants and guides.
Once you're ready for your adventure abseil we'll take you though a quick safety briefing and get you on the edge. There will be ample opportunity to try different abseiling techniques throughout the afternoon.
A yummy lunch, fun guides and all equipment is included in the price. We can organise a pick up if you need transport. Please inform us upon booking.

Participant Guidelines
Participants must be at least 12 years old and must weigh less than 110kg
All participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Discuss any heath issues with your doctor prior to booking. We require a minimum of 4 people to run a day. If minimum numbers are not meet we will call you to organise a suitable alternative.

A confirmation email will be sent upon booking. This email will include a map of where to go, contact numbers for the day and how to prepare details.

Weather Exceptions
Safety is our number one consideration and occasionally days will need to be rescheduled for safety considerations. The decision to postpone the day will be made by Break Away Adventures Staff. Clients not turning up just because the day doesn’t “look good” will be considered as a no show. If a day is postponed due to weather alternatives will be offered.
Meeting Point
Brisbane Ranges National Park
Depart Melbourne on the Western Hwy (accessible via Western Ring Rd)
Continue to Bacchus Marsh exit
1.Follow this road until you come to a round-about in the centre of town.
2.Turn left at round-a-bout into Grant Street
3.Follow Grant Street to next round-about and turn right into Griffith Street.
4.Follow this road out of town (name changes to Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Rd)
5.Stay on this road for approx 18km’s. You will come to a corner where you need to turn right (main road turns the corner, gravel road continues straight ahead, stay on the main road)
6.Continue on this road for approx 8-10km’s then look for ‘Staughtonvale Outdoor Education Centre’ on the right-hand side of the road. (easy to miss this centre, next to old tennis courts. Only chimney left from old school building after 2006 fires). This is McLeans Hwy
7.Turn right into McLeans Road (dirt road) next to an old disused tennis court.
8.Follow this road uphill taking care as it is narrow and has many blind corners!
9.When you reach the top of the ridgeline, there is a small carpark for the climbing site on the left-hand side where you can park and then you can follow the track alongside the information shelter down a short distance to the climbing/abseiling site.
If you require pickup we will meet you at St. Paul's Cathedral, Flinders Street (opposit federation square). Please ensure you have your mobile handy as we may need to contact you.
