Relive Australia's Gold Rush Era!
The journey through Victoria's Gold mining past begins in Ballarat, a city whose splendid gold rush architecture is proudly displayed in its Mining Exchange and Fine Art Gallery and also home of the original Eureka flag.
Experience life as it was in the glorious days. Situated on a 15 hectare site the complex attracts over 550,000 visitors each year. When you pass through the entrance to Sovereign Hill it is like stepping back in time, as horse drawn carriages roll along the unpaved streets, and people in period dress make their way busily amongst the buildings, shops and houses that replicate the era. Pan for gold in Red Gully Creek and watch the tradesman as they work.
