Kayaking, snorkeling, dolphins, Aboriginal culture
This is the greatest natural adventure on the Gold Coast
Four tours in one.
Finalist Top 20 BEST AUSTRALIAN EXPERIENCES 2009 by Travelling in Australia Magazine.
Breathe in the fresh air, and soak up the wonderful scenery as your guided kayak group paddles a short way across the calm blue water to Wavebreak Island. Marvel at the array of sea-life - dolphins, stingray and birdlife you may encounter along the way.
Now it is time to immerse yourself in the warm waters, snorkel straight off the sandy beach, feed the sub-tropical fish, swim, or soak up the sun from the golden shoreline of Wavebreak Island - the choice is yours.
Next, a hearty appetite is rewarded with a traditional Aussie billy tea breakfast on the beach - fresh fruit and tasty damper bread served with traditional fruit jam and billy tea, whilst your guide shares ancient stories about the island.
Your guide will awaken your senses to the nature that surrounds you and help you discover bush tucker as he paints a picture of the aboriginals, land and wildlife as it has been for thousands of years.
Now it's time to explore with your guide and participate in a mock hunt for the Golden Swamp Wallay (unique to this island), discover other wildlife in its natural habitat and experience anicent Aboriginal ceremony.
The paddle home, although just 30 minutes, provides the time to reflect on this awesome adventure and your newfound insight into an ancient culture.

Nightmare. Repeatedly tried to get hold of the company via email to organise a transfer from the hotel, with no reply at all. Trying via the phone once in the Gold Coast was also difficult. Ended up booking the transfer 2 days before, only to wait unsuccesfully for it - we had apparently been booked on the wrong day. The kayak company did not really seem to care, but said he would organise our refund for us. Two weeks later and we have heard nothing.

Whole family (Dad, Mum and 3 teenages) rate this activity very highly. Great experience regarding introduction to aboriginal culture, very best of team (welcoming and patient!) to guide us over the sea in kayaks and host us to a wonderful spread of food and billy tea! Hand feeding fish and snorkeling a fanastic experience. Hunting and tracking wallaby and wildlife cool fun! Am recommending our travel agent list this activity as a must do for kiwi's of all ages. Would love to do this experience a second time!
