Learn to Fly in the Jabiru J-170 and carry out Climbs, Descents and Turns. To complete your experience imagine yourself Tandem Skydiving at 220kmph!

What better way to learn more about flying than to experience it! Here in the Yarra Valley we offer a Trial Instructional Flight (TIF). This includes a brief with one of the instructors, and a 20-30 minute flight during which you will handle the controls and experience the sensation of flying!

Where the training takes place is in the area defined by Sugarloaf Reservoir, Marrondah Dam and Healsville, Woori Yallock , and The Dandenong Ranges.

The experience comprises of two parts. The first being a 30 minute classroom training where we discuss all aspects of flights and what causes an aeroplane, climb descend, run etc. This will be using models which show all aspects such as Wing Flaps, Alerons, Rudder, Elevator and more. Next is putting what you have been shown into practice. You take the controls and practice and demonstrate climbing descending and turning.

THEN:

It is time for your Skydive Experience from 10.000 feet.

First is a briefing with your tandem sky dive instructor. This includes what to expect and what you will see on the plane flight to height, in freefall, under canopy and upon landing. The briefing takes approximately 15 minutes. Our tandem jump masters have completed 1000's jumps and are members of the Australian Parachute Federation. Once the briefing is over, it will be time to gear up in preparation for your sky diving experience.

Once we reach height, it will be time to prepare you for the jump. The door opens and as you leave the plane, you and your tandem master will accelerate through the air reaching terminal velocity - 220km/h. Freefall feels like riding a cushion of air similar to riding a big wave. In freefall, your senses will be able to take in stunning views as far as the eye can see. Then finally it's time to pull your parachute open.- Its an amazing feeling!

Please note that there is a $25 charge on the day which is paid directly to the supplier for the Australian Parachute Federation membership and insurance Fee.

Your tandem sky dive will be with your instructor. There may be up to 20 people attending the safety briefing at any one time. We operate all year round We recommend that you book at least one week in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.

You must be at least 14 years of age and a maximum of 100kg to skydive. You should be physically fit. We can cater for disabled participants - please enquire at the time of booking (conditions apply). To participate in the wine tasting you must be at least 18 years of age. No alcohol may be consumed prior to your skydive.

Session Length

Allow approximately 3 hours for the experience, including briefing, scenic flight, freefall, parachute ride and de-brief.

Weather Exceptions

Skydiving is weather dependent. You are required to call the drop zone before you leave home on the day of the jump to check the conditions. If the weather is unsuitable then we will reschedule you for another date. We have a 100% safety record and at no stage will we compromise the safety of our customers or staff.
