This fantastic experience includes a must-do ride on the thrilling Scenic Railway and a spectacular hiking experience to Ruined Castle. We traverse the Jamieson Valley and climb one of the most visible and remarkable landmarks, the Ruined Castle. The 360 degree views from the rocky battlement of Ruined Castle is a stunning climax to this walk. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch before returning.

Participant Guidelines

We suggest bringing a backpack to carry all your personal items. You may like to bring a camera to capture the amazing scenery you'll experience along the way. To ensure you keep well hydrated, please bring at least 1.5 litres of drinking water (on extremely hot days double this amount). We also recommend a hat and sunscreen.

Please wear comfortable clothes, hat and enclosed walking shoes. Wear clothes to maintain a comfortable body temperature, we suggest not wearing jeans as you may overheat. High heeled shoes, thongs, sandals or skimpy shoes should not be used.

BUSHWALK GRADE: Medium to Hard
Medium to Hard bushwalk with some hilly sections requiring moderate level of fitness. Suitable for those with a good level of fitenss. This is a 13km walk.

This is a full day hike between 5 to 6.5 hours duration.
Meet time in the Blue Mountains is 9.30am.
* Sydney Hotel Pickups are at approximately 7.30am
* For those choosing pickups we will also include a special sightseeing trip of the Blue Mountains' famous icons or a possibly a special request.
* Arrival time back in Sydney will be 6.30pm and 7.00pm.

Meeting Point

Sydney Hotel Pick-Ups:
The Blue Mountains is roughly a two hour drive from Sydney, rather than hassle with various public transport connections, why not less us pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the end of the day. Transfers are available for just $30 extra per person from any hotel in the Sydney CBD or Manly area.

Meet at Scenic Railway Car Park Entrance, 1 Violet Street, Katoomba.
