Christchurch, also known as the Garden City, is the capital of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a growing cosmopolitan city of contrasts and is often the first point of call for international visitors embarking on their journeys to the many places to see on the South Island. With the stunning Pacific Ocean at its doorstep and the magnificent Southern Alps in its background, Christchurch is a must-see when visiting New Zealand.
Located in the centre east coast of the island, Christchurch is situated in what is called the Canterbury Plains. There is something different to do in less than 2 hours drive in any direction. To the east lies the open ocean and Banks Peninsula, featuring sheltered bays, sandy beaches, bush clad valleys, rocky coastline and high, wild places. To the west lie the tallest mountains in Australasia, the Southern Alps, including Mount Cook, strung out parallel to the coastline. A journey north reveals green rolling hills, forests and long, empty beaches, with the Whale Watching centre of Kaikoura about 2 hours' drive away, whilst an excursion to the south passes through farmland and takes you the adventure capital of New Zealand, Queenstown.
We have Hot Air Ballooning, Scenic Flights, Skydiving, Jet Boating, Full Day Tours and much more. With so many things on offer in Christchurch, we'll have you spoilt for choice.
